How can you protect your Egg Card, along with any other cards and accounts you hold, from fraud and misuse? Follow our tips below to ensure you've done all you can to keep your cards and accounts safe.

Report suspicious contact- Never provide secure details to people who contact you asking for them.
- When we call you we'll only ask for certain letters of your password. If you receive a call asking you to reveal your full password please report it to us.
- Report any suspicious contact immmediately by calling on 08451 233 233.

Keep your PIN secret and secure- Don't let anyone else use your card or your PIN.
- When you're sent your PIN, memorise it then destroy the notification.
- Never write your PIN down.
- Shield your PIN when authorising purchases in the same way you would at an ATM.
- Only enter your PIN into cash machines or point of sale key pads.
- Never enter your PIN into websites or order forms, or disclose it to anyone else either in person or over the phone.
- View your Egg Card or Egg Money PINs securely online at any time. Simply log in to 'your accounts', select the 'Security details' tab and choose to 'View your PIN'.

Keep your cards in a safe place- If your cards are lost or stolen or if you think someone may have access to your cards or security information then contact us immediately on 08451 233 233.
- Don't let anyone else use your card, PIN or any other security information.
- Don't allow retailers to take your card out of sight.

Dispose of receipts and statements carefully- Carefully tear up or shred any sales receipts or cash machine receipts/statements before throwing them away.
- Check your receipts and statements to ensure amounts are correct and transactions are valid.

Be alert at cash and chip and PIN machines- Don't allow yourself to be distracted.
- Shield your PIN when you enter it.
- Immediately report any signs of tampering or if the machine doesn't return your card.
- Remember to dispose of your cash machine receipt, mini statement or balance enquiry with care.

Account monitoring- We monitor your accounts for suspicious activity.
- We may contact you if something doesn't appear right (these calls may include computer generated speech).
- You should also monitor your accounts and check your statements carefully. If you find any transactions you didn't make you must contact Egg on 08451 233 233 immediately.

Card protection- For your extra security both online and offline, consider credit card protection. There are a range of products in the market place. Egg also offers
Egg Emergency Cover which includes cover for card protection.
- You can apply for this when you activate your card. It provides cover against loss or theft and fraudulent use of all your cards, and not just your Egg Card or Egg Money card.
- Once you're a member, one free call from anywhere in the world at any time will relieve you of the hassle of sorting out lost cards.
