security guaranteed with Egg Money Manager
Egg Money Manager is simple, safe and secure. In fact, we're so confident about it we provide the Egg guarantee. It means you can use Egg Money Manager with complete confidence.

How we keep your details secure

Your passwords are stored and encrypted in the 'password safe' on the PC you use Egg Money Manager on. When you log in to Egg Money Manager a communication is sent directly between your PC and each of your other banks. This is just the same way as if you logged in manually through your browser, but because you automatically log in to all your other balances at once, it's much faster.

Encryption

Your personal details are stored and encrypted, in the 'password safe' on the PC you use Egg Money Manager on. We use the industry standard encryption and there are tens of millions or more possible encryption keys, only one of which will give access to your personal information, so the chances of someone guessing the key to your personal information are very low. Even in the unlikely event of someone hacking the Egg website, they wouldn't be able to access your log in details, as these are kept on your own PC.

Your banks' terms and conditions

Organisations generally do not object to Egg Money Manager because you do not disclose your PINs and passwords to us. However, should you become aware of any issues when you are using Egg Money Manager please contact us by secure message - to do this, just click on the 'Your money' tab at the top of the page and then click on the link 'View your message or send us a message'.

Using a shared PC

If you want to use Egg Money Manager on a shared PC, your personal information is encrypted and prevents people from seeing your details. However we don't advise that you use Egg Money Manager on any PC which is open to public access such as an internet café PC. And of course, you're always covered by the Egg guarantee. If you want to use Egg Money Manager on more than one PC, you'll just need to download the 'password safe' to each machine you use to access your other bank accounts.

Will Egg share my personal information with anyone else?

We'll only share information about you with other organisations if you've given us permission to do so. You can withdraw your permission at any time, just by contacting us.

The Egg guarantee

We guarantee to repay any money taken from any of your Egg accounts or other bank accounts aggregated via Egg Money Manager if:
  • The cause is an error by our staff or our systems.
  • The fraud or security breach is caused by Egg, an Egg company or one of our Linked Suppliers. Linked Supplier means a person or company which provides additional benefits or services to you under an arrangement with us.
We won't be responsible for any losses if:
  • The fraud or security breach is caused by a third party service provider which is not a Linked Supplier, or your use of that service.
  • The fraud or security breach is the result of you entering your Egg accounts details into any other service other than directly onto the Egg secure log in page.
  • You've acted fraudulently, without reasonable care or have not met the security requirements in the terms and conditions which apply to your Egg account(s).
