About our insurance services

1. We are Egg Banking plc and our address is Pride Park, Derby, DE99 3GG. Egg Banking plc is a member of the Egg group, and is registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Citigroup Centre, Canada Square, London E14 5LB. Egg Banking plc is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and entered in the FSA register under number 205621.

2. Egg Banking plc is permitted to arrange and offer for sale general insurance and pure protection contracts. You can check this on the FSA's Register by visiting the FSA's website www.fsa.gov.uk/register or by contacting the FSA on 0845 606 1234. The FSA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services. It requires us to give you this document. Use this information to decide if our services are right for you.

3. Egg Banking plc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Citigroup Inc.

4. We can only offer products from a limited number of insurers:

AXA Insurance UK plc, and AXA Sun Life plc for Egg Loan Repayment Protection.

You can at any time ask us for a list of insurers we offer insurance from.

5. You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us for Egg Loan Repayment Protection. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

You will not have to pay a fee for our services.

Please note that this will not be a secure e-mail and you should not disclose any account specific information such as account numbers or passwords.

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

7. We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit. Further information about compensation scheme arrangements is available from the FSCS.

8. We are an approved bank for the purposes of the Financial Services Authority Client Money Rules. Prior to transferring your premium to the Insurer, any money will be held by us as a banker, not a trustee and therefore will be held in our account. Any money will not be held in a separate account and we are not liable to you for any profits we may make from these funds. Any repayment of premiums, claims or any other sums due under the policy paid by us on behalf of the Insurer shall also be held by us as a banker pending payment to you.
